Day 1: Your adventure begins as you fly from Chicago to the enchanting city of Charleston, South Carolina. Upon arrival, step back in time with a tour of the iconic Boone Hall Plantation, where centuries of history come to life amidst the picturesque grounds. In the evening, delight your taste buds with a sumptuous dinner at Virginia's on King, renowned for its Southern hospitality and delectable Lowcountry fare.
Day 2: Discover the rich heritage of Charleston with a guided city tour, led by a knowledgeable local guide. Explore the stately Nathaniel Russell House, a stunning example of neoclassical architecture. Then, wander through the bustling stalls of the Charleston City Market, where you can find unique gifts and souvenirs. As the sun sets, embark on a mesmerizing Harbor Cruise aboard the Carolina Belle, soaking in breathtaking views of the waterfront. Cap off the evening with a visit to the dazzling Festival of Lights at James Island County Park, where millions of twinkling lights illuminate the night sky.
Day 3: Journey to the vibrant city of Asheville, North Carolina, where holiday magic awaits. Marvel at the whimsical creations on display at the National Gingerbread House Competition, a delightful showcase of culinary artistry. Then, wander through the enchanting Winter Lights at the North Carolina Arboretum, adorned with sparkling displays and festive decorations.
Day 4: Prepare to be enchanted as you explore the magnificent Biltmore Estate, adorned with festive trimmings and holiday cheer. A daytime visit to Biltmore is a feast for the senses, featuring fragrant wreaths, glittering garland, and the sparkle of thousands of ornaments from Biltmore House to Antler Hill Village! Wrap yourself in the magic of this most beloved of holiday traditions: Christmas at Biltmore. This evening you will embark on the Holly Jolly Trolley Tour, where you'll ride through the city of Asheville to view decorations while singing Christmas carols with onboard singers.
Day 5: Continue your journey to Charlotte, North Carolina, where holiday shopping and festive fun await. Explore the charming boutiques and eateries at Queen City Quarter, the perfect spot to find unique gifts and treasures. Then, experience the magic of Christmas Town USA in McAdenville, a charming village transformed into a winter wonderland with shimmering lights and holiday cheer.
Day 6: Bid farewell to the Carolinas as you board your flight from Charlotte back to Chicago, filled with cherished memories of a holiday adventure unlike any other.
