We will travel through the rolling hills of western Wisconsin and slip down into the beautiful and historic city of Galena, IL. The city appears almost the same as it did during the riverboat period of the 1850s. It is considered one of the most unique cities in all of America. A step-on guide will provide a narrated tour of the city.

We will go to Ulysses Grant Home Historic State Site and tour the home that Grant lived in when he left to serve in the Civil War and the home that he returned to after his presidency from 1869-1877.

We will tour the Belvedere Mansion which is Galena’s largest mansion and it is filled with period antiques and the famous “Gone With The Wind” green, velvet draperies.

We will eat a delicious lunch in the historic De Soto House. Following lunch, Annie Wiggins will share her famous Ghost Tales of Galena. You will have time to shop along historic Main Street where there are a plethora of unique shops.
